4th of July Celebrations on Hilton Head Island

The start of summer comes with the anticipation of one of Hilton Head Island’s favorite summer celebrations, July 4th. With numerous events across Hilton Head Island, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on this upcoming Independence Day.

Celebrate with a 5K Run/Walk

Hit the beach for the USA 5K at Coligny Beach on Hilton Head Island, for a July 4th celebration that all runners and walkers will love! This is a family oriented running event for all ages and skill levels. This event is entirely on the flat beach at low tide! PLENTY of room to run fast -or- walk with your family and friends. Celebrate Independence Day at the 36th annual Hilton Head Firecracker 5K. This run and family fun walk will kick-off at 8 a.m. on Sunday, July 4th in beautiful Jarvis Creek Park on Hilton Head Island. As the largest and oldest road race in Beaufort County, the Hilton Head Firecracker 5K is one of the top ten races in South Carolina and a great way to spend your Fourth of July.

Hilton Head Island Independence day Parade

Kick off your 4th of July celebration at the Harbour Town parade. Show off your red, white and blue spirit by decorating your bicycle, wagon, dog or kids for this fun-filled parade around Harbour Town. Meet in the parking lot adjacent to the newly remodeled Quarterdeck at 8:30 am to register and pick up decorating supplies. The parade lineup begins promptly at 9:30 am, and entries will be judged on patriotism. Supplies are limited to the first 100 registered. Following the parade, there will be carnival games, inflatables and more. Call (843) 842-1979 for more information.

Salute from the Shore is back for 2022!

Salute from the Shore is a unique opportunity to salute our armed forces, while celebrating Independence Day on Hilton Head Island beaches. A military flyover will stretch the entire length of South Carolina’s coast to include military planes and vintage aircraft. The fighter jets should arrive around 1:30 p.m., followed by vintage military planes around 1:45 p.m. Come out to the beach to salute our military.

Fireworks and Festivities

Finish the night off with a spectacular fireworks show, best seen at iconic Hilton Head locations, including Harbour Town in Sea Pines, Skull Creek Boathouse, and Palmetto Dunes; that also features family-friendly activities for the evening at Shelter Cove. All firework shows will begin at dusk.
