Landscape Tricks That Will Help Sell Your Hilton Head Home

Are you considering selling your home on Hilton Head Island or Bluffton?  What is the first impression when a buyer looks at your house for sale?  The outside curb appeal.  Here are a few landscape ideas that will help you sell your house faster and for more money:

1) Size your trees and shrubs.  After 15 years, most plants look straggly and overgrown. If a potential buyer can’t see your home, you may have just lost a potential buyer as soon as the realtor pulls into the driveway. Don’t let plants block the windows or overgrown shrubs cast shadows on the architectural features. Pull out overgrown bushes, especially around the front of the home, and replace with 3-gallon plants that are at least 4 to 5 feet from edge of exterior. A smaller plant out front can make all the difference.

2)  Add some color. Adding a bed of annuals indicates that you care for your lawn. Just a few flats can go a long way.

3)  Make your lawn look good. First impressions do matter to today’s buyers.  The more the buyer thinks that the seller cares about the home, the better they feel about purchasing the house.

4)   Polish decorative architectural accents. Be sure your mailbox is attractive, fences are painted, driveways are power washed.

These simple outside tips can help sellers of Hilton Head and Bluffton properties get a higher price.
